The Courtyard House
A single-storey home for a retired couple, organised entirely at ground level around a planted court.
The brief was explicit: no stairs, ever. We spread the accommodation across the full plot around a planted courtyard, with wide door openings and level thresholds throughout so the house stays usable if mobility changes. Deep roof overhangs on the south and west keep the glazing shaded through the worst of the afternoon.
